Angie realized one of her lifetime dreams of founding a small dog rescue. She has been rescuing animals since she was a small child, drove her grandmother crazy sometimes.
Born and raised in Northern California, Angie was educated at the University of California at Berkeley where she studied Political Science and spent most of her career as a senior certified paralegal at a large law firm.

Angie began her volunteer dog rescue work in a 501c3 rescue, at first fostering small dogs then soon becoming the Foster Coordinator for another local rescue. As well as serving as Foster Coordinator, Angie also put in many hours at adoption events, making sure all ran smoothly. It wasn’t long before she realized that it was time to branch out and organize a new rescue, if only to give these dogs even more of an opportunity at being saved.
On October 18, 2013, Groovy Paws Rescue Inc., The Grooviest Dog Rescue in Oklahoma, was born.

What we do and our mission: Groovy Paws Rescue, Inc. is a foster based rescue with foster homes throughout the Norman and Oklahoma City metro region. We rescue Pomeranias and other small breed, medical cases and senior dogs from high kill shelters, ‘free to good home’ ads and others that come to us through owner surrenders.
Groovy Paws Rescue is currently working on our 6 year and have over 700 pups home In loving forever homes in the USA and Canada.

Our Mission is to save unwanted, homeless and abandoned small breed dogs and place them with safe, caring adoptive families. Additionally, to provide public education on the importance of spaying and neutering all pets to help control overpopulation.

We are committed to providing our pets with the best possible care. Every dog adopted from Groovy Paws Rescue will be vetted. This includes:

Spay/neuter
DHLPP, rabies and bordetella vaccines
Heartworm test (age appropriate)
Heartworm treatment as needed
Monthly flea & heartworm preventative
Microchip

GPR is incorporated as a nonprofit in the State of Oklahoma. We are not funded by state or municipal funding and only fund with monetary donations. Any and all of the costs of rescue beyond the adoption fee are covered by the rescuers and private donations. In the majority of cases, the adoption fee does not cover the full costs of rescue & care.
